Guest guest
Sara, As others have said, speech therapy is about so much more than articulation. Yes, you are right that a speech therapist who has expereince with deaf children will show her: 1. how to listen 2. what each sound means 3. how to ask for what she wants " Use your words! " was our motto, taught by our therapist 4. how to ask for clarifiation if she doesn't understand And so much more. Togive your EI person the benefit of the doubt, she likely deals with SO many situations that she can't know everything about any of them. So together you can know more. Yes, I would press for speech therapy, and consider putting your child in a preschool program with typically speaking children. Their language will pull her forward. Been there! Hope this helps,

She'd get frustrated and use her hands ... or her fists and her big brother was forbidden to hit back. So we said this one a lot.
