We're home!

Hi all,

I have been gone for a week and haven't been able to connect to the Internet.

Now we're back and there are over 700 messages! Wow. You guys were busy.

I hope most of it is good news.

Before I start reading them I have to say life was wonderful. Things were so

incredibly busy here and started to be overwhelming so when got our

income tax return he suddenly said instead of paying off bills we were going to

take time off. So, he booked a trip to Cancun. In 24 years of marriage we had

never taken a trip alone for no reason but to be adults on vacation. I didn't

say anything on the list because first, it didn't seem real and then I knew we

would be taking our computers and cell phones with us so I would be keeping

in touch. I had NEVER gone on a trip like this and didn't expect to find that

there was no way to use the Internet or our cells. I also didn't expect the

huge cost just to call home to check up on the girls! We were almost totally

out of touch with the world. At first it seemed hard as I had tons of work and

reports to do and both of us went into a bit of a panic. But there was

nothing we could do about it and you know what we found out? Life or the world

didn't end. I also learned after 21 years I made a big mistake. Wherever or

whatever and I did we always took the girls with us. We felt their lives

were so hard and busy that they needed “us†time. We were wrong. What we

should have done was to have “us†time meaning just the two of us. It was

heaven

on earth and really reduced our stresses, rejuvenated our love for each other,

lightened our spirits, and allowed us to let us put life back into

importance.

Patty had an OK time while we were gone. She stayed in CT with my family. I

think it was good for her to realize how much she missed us. She never

really missed us before. Maybe that's because usually she's usually the one

going

on a trip somehow and this time it was us. Yea!

Oh and right before we left we took Patty to another orthopedic doctor to

check on her scoliosis. It is staying around 12 degrees. He said much of that

is because of Patty's diligence in exercising and caring for herself. It was

great news to start the trip with.

Even though the vacation was great I am happy to be home again. There really

is no place like home. I have missed hearing from or about all of you. I

didn't realize how important this list is to me until I was totally unable to

connect to it. But now 700 posts is going to take me time to go through it

all. I'm guessing the better part of the week.

So, live is good. How I wish I took a vacation before. You can bet we will

do it again. If any of you can I say do it. Don't make the mistakes I did

and take that time for yourselves. Get respite and don't feel guilty. Its so

good!
