Guest guest
Seems like you are having the same problem I had a few years ago. I moved from Sierra Vista, AZ (right outside of Tucson) to San , Tx and had problems at first finding CE hours. You don't have to me a member of an organization to get CEs with them. But I guess you have to be a member for them to open their doors to you. Sorry if that is the case. You just need to keep calling around to the different departments and also to the local colleges to see what is offered. They run CEs a lot different than Arizona does so you might experience a cost regardless of where you land at. Good luck to you Quinten NREMT-P/Firefighter Ce Need a little help please. Since moving from AZ to Texas a little less then 4 months ago I'm having trouble finding Ce classes in the Houston area. Every fire department and ambulance service that I've contacted has told me I can not attended there Ce classes if I'm not a member of there department. Is this standard practice in Texas or am I not talking to the right people. In AZ you can show up for any CE class being offered by any agency. It doesn't matter if its a fire department or a private ambulance service. The door is open to anyone wanting to learn at no charge. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would gtreatly appreciate it. Rich NREMY-P

Guest guest
Check with the RAC (SETTRAC) - they offer some classes and can point you in the direction of those who teach additional classes. Unfortunately, CE classes have a " turf " associated with them in Texas - why this is, I'm not quite sure. There are several online providers offering unlimited CE from their system for around $50 a year. Mike > > Need a little help please. Guest guest
Also try www.cesolutions.com They charge $100 for a two year membership and you can go read articles and take a 10 question exam for the hours listed. They have quite a few subjects and you can print out the completion certificates. texasazmedic wrote: Need a little help please. Guest guest
The problem with CE solutions and other online CE companies. National Registry will only accept a small portion of your required CE hours done via distance learning. I believe it is only 24hrs. The rest of your CE must be done face to face in a classroom setting or in a lecture type setting. With Texas going to National Registry now, I think you are going to see this come up more and more in the future. Guest guest
You're not required to KEEP NR in Texas. I have never been NR, and have no intention of pursuing NR, as I don't intend to leave Texas. I can take all my CE online. Mike > > The problem with CE solutions and other online CE companies. Guest guest
I am not playing games here. I am offended that you would accuse me of this. But for your information. I charge 25.00 a class, not only that when I have a group I go to them with the class. Mike wrote: Kaye - What do you charge to do one-on-one CE, like this person seems to be asking for? Guest guest
How can you make a profit charging $25 for one class for one person when you have to travel to put the class on? Guest guest
So, you offer ce credits to emt 's and paramedics......we were looking at your website and wondering how you offer all of those classes as an instructor and you teach those classes as an instructor, when you are just elegible for instructor testing, not certified, and you have been an emt since June? does this mean that any ce's we take with you or the acls class or bcls class we take would be revoked since you are not an instructor? Just wondering.. Kaye Brock wrote: I am not playing games here. I am offended that you would accuse me of this. But for your information.
