Advice Erbitux and fatigue

I have a question for people who have been on Erbitux. I have

received 3 doses- the last dose last Friday.

Although I knew I would be tired for the rest of the day after the

pretreatment IV Benedryl, I did not anticipate how very fatigued and

weirdly unmotivated I feel days later. Although I felt tired

especially on days 3 and 4 after oxaliplatin/Xeloda, at least I felt

like reading. I have been trying to motivate to pick up my apartment,

read, and go to the gym since I got up this AM and 8 hrs later have

done almost nothing, napping and watching TV- something usually don't

do much of.

Other side effects have been mild. My back is a bit achy- I am not

certain whether this is because of the drug or because I have been

spending so much time napping. The acne has been mild. My oncologist

says the skin changes are the worst at one month, and then get

better.

Anyone else have this problem? Will this get better with time? Any

suggestions?

Thanks for any advice,

Kris

Kris,

My Mom was on Erbitux and Camptosar for about 3 months and during

that time she was more tired than she had been from all other

treatments. She slept alot and just felt better if she was lying

down. She also lost 10 pounds due to the side effects of Camptosar.

We're hoping she'll start gaining weight now that she's changed

treatments. Yesterday she started on Avastin with 5fu and the

initial infusion went well.

From your last post it sounds like you're getting some of your energy

back. I hope you continue to feel better and have great results on

this new treatment.
