I agree that telling her how long is difficult, bc the most understanding she has of the concept of time is how many times she goes to sleep before something happens (this worked really well for dancing). But, she is NOT going to understand 30+ times considering she can't count that high!!! LOL I usually just tell her soon (without specifying time) and tell her something about when he comes home. (He won't have to go back to Korea this time, we're going to do this or that when he comes home, etc...) It usually works but she sometimes wants to know when soon is... then I just tell her that I'm not sure she'll understand bc it's such a big number, but it's so many days. Then she leaves it alone and starts talking about something else--related to him coming home or not. She is definitely ready for him to be home, though... AND the army has already provided him with half his ticket home!!! He takes a military flight from Korea to Washington, so what he has is actually a memorandum--not a ticket-- to get onto that flight. On the 6th he goes to pick up the ticket (actual ticket, they fly him commercial the rest of the way home) from Washington to here. He gets into Washington at about 10:30am so now I'm just wondering how many stops he'll have to make from there to here and how long the flight is... Well, I'll know on the 6th!! And at least I do know that he'll be home by dinner time on the 24th of next month!!! ) Something to look forward to!! As for the actual preparing to move... really all I'm doing is making my list of things that we are bringing with us in the car--- or shall I say, I'm thinking of the things. I haven't gotten around to actually making the list yet. One of the beauties of military life is always having the option to use movers without having to pay the cost ourselves... They will come on the 26th (July) and pack up all of our stuff (and repack the stuff in storage) and they will move it there. I don't have to do anything but get my phone turned off (regular and cell), cancel my gym membership, maybe that's all... I don't know!!! I've been really thinking about the stuff they are going to be packing for me.. I'm not bringing all of my underwear bc I'd be packing way more into the car than necessary... I mean, I CAN wash!!! But I've been thinking about the fact that the movers are going to see this stuff. I'm sorry... It's still a little freaky for me to think that any male (other than my dh) is going to see that stuff. Can you believe that is my biggest worry about moving?!?!?! LOL I just can't wait to get it started. Okay... See, this topic makes me really happy so I could go on and on and on about it forever (more than I already have) so I'm going to go now. ) Amy 20 weeks (halfway there) 33 days!!!
