Hi Sheila,

Thanks for the encouragement. Lord knows I need plenty of that!! 8o)

I can't tolerate the Welch's. Not because it gives me D or anything, but it just

irritates the lining of my stomach.....I'm assuming because of the acidic

content. I haven't tried a local apple cider. Does it have to be local....or can

I get a certain brand from the market?

Yes, I can tolerate all that you listed as far as food. And I could hold off on

the other types of meat. I hate to take out the elk, because it really does sit

so well with me. But for a few days.....why not? No biggie. My only concern is

the lack of carbs. If I don't eat enough carbs, my energy level really goes down

the tubes. And so does my mood. It's like I'm on downer pills or something.

So.....I will attempt the foods you listed, unless I go into a coma. LOL.

Otherwise, I'll add the carrot juice.

Hi ,

I'm so glad to see you gearing up to start :)

either since I can't have the juices. Are the above foods ok for the

intro diet?

Technically the green beans aren't on the intro diet, neither are

the avocado, the steak or roast or the carrot and celery juice.

Are you able to just a day with just

Broiled cod

Broiled Hamburger patties

Eggs (boiled, poached, or scrambled)

Cooked carrots

Probably lots of carrots since you are drinking juice (can you

tolerate Welch's grape or a local apple cider)

They are currently the only things I can eat that does not have any

adverse affects. Are there enough carbs in the foods above? I am

thinking that if I am sure to drink the juice every day, I would be

fine since the carrots have a lot of carbs.

It really would be best if you could hold off on the carrot juice

until you are stabilized on the diet (ie know how die-off will

affect you etc.)

If you can't do it without these foods than just start the diet as

you are able. It is more important to get on it it than anything

else.

It may be that you can tolerate Kedem Kosher Organic Purple grape Juice. It'

s costly and I only found Welch's in big jugs at our supermarket. I finally

got some Welch's in a glass bottle at a convenience store and it's tolerable

but slightly irritating in ways similar to what you have described. It makes

my waist swell, my head ache and my nose tingle. Try the Kedem before giving

up on grape. make sure it's the organic as Kedem makes a conventional grape

juice that may have stuff added.

It may be the ascorbic acid.

I don't what brands you'd have. Apple cider does tend to be a local

item because it doesn't have a long shelf life (like Welch's, Dole

etc.) At my local stores the apple cider is in the produce section

not with the other juices.

Unless you have bad diarrhea you don't need to do the intro very

long 2-3 days would suffice. If you have severe diarrhea then 4-5

days.
