Guest guest
definitely flashy. I wonder how effective it will be. It shows the glamour of EMS, that's for sure. Joanna LP

Guest guest
Interesting I might say. Shows the " adrenalin " side of EMS which is what 3 percent of what we do. Of course, I am a country music fan so did not like the music. But for the younger generation they may get some recruitment from it. stephen stephens > > Without prejudicing anybody with my opinion, what do you think about > Pennsylvania's new EMS recruitment video? > > http://www.rollwithit.com/ > > BEB > > E. Guest guest
AWESOME.......................... I love it. This is what our industry/profession should have done years ago. And, it want hurt starting it now. If ANYONE wants to do something like this here in Texas and has the all the ideas and know how and wants to get aired on TV. I will gladly invest my money into a project such as that. For the good of the profession, the volunteers, the paid, the private and the public. We are all one. Bay Star Ambulance Service www.baystarems.com No one will ever want to do transfers again. But they got to start someplace. Guest guest
You wouldn't believe how dramatic the response has been to the video....Unprecedented volume of interested prospective EMS personnel. Apparently it is working. When it first came out, I thought it was pretty corny and almost laughable. I was surprised to learn that they are getting the desired results (at least in terms of numbers). However, like many of the recruiting efforts across the country, they bring you in with the tacit promise of fun and excitement around every corner....lives hanging in the balance on every call.... It leaves out the part of EMS that is not so glamorous, the bulk of what EMS is. I am not convinced that this type of marketing brings the cream of the crop to our business, but at least it is getting people's attention. Guest guest
I personally like it. It really grabs your attention. Of course, it will probably attract the adrenalin (trauma) junkies... According to their press release, they are targeting a young audience and have shown it at movie theatres across the state. It will certainly be interesting to see their response to this. Maybe, Texas should do something similar. Weslaco, TX --- " E. Guest guest
Not too keen on the music, but it is pretty cool otherwise. Might get someone interested in EMS. " E. Guest guest
I share Dr. Bledsoe's observation that the video is a mixed bag. I have serious reservations about appealing to mindless purient interests in order to fill our ranks. Of course, the biggest problem I have with such a thing in Texas is that I don't see us as having such a serious problem to begin with. Certainly not on the order of Pittsburgh, where the video originated. Look at the numbers of personnel certified through DSHS. Anybody seen an EMT class that was cancelled for lack of interest lately? Nope. We're turning out plenty of wankers. The problem is not in recruitment. The problem is in retention. And if we continue to recruit based upon a lie, the retention problem will forever plague the system. It's nothing more than the proverbial bandaid on the arterial bleed to feed a revolving door. Fix the system. Recruitment and retention will then take care of itself. Rob
Guest guest
I think it has the potential to bring some candidates into the field - that is the upside. The downside is would they ALL be GOOD candidates? Barry McClung, EMT-P
Guest guest
Showed it to my paramedic class, of course all of them are under 25, they loved it. I believe they are going to link it with their student web page. Adjunct Faculty EMT Program University of Texas Brownsville/Texas Southmost College -- In , wrote: > > I personally like it.
