Is it possible that the " TT in Nov 02 " was a typo? It would be very

unusual to have had 2 courses of RAI since Nov 02.

I had a lot of sores in my mouth and tongue after the RAI (don't know

if it was all from the RAI or being hypo), which took awhile to heal.

There are probably some folks on here who are familiar with side

effects from EBR, and hopefully they'll write in. Also, you might want

to pose this to the advanced thyca group:

Good luck! Sounds like your mom's having a rough time of it :-(.

She's fortunate to have you to advocate for her, though!

Sheri.

I got my thyca from mercury in amalgams.

One main symptom for me was metallic taste in mouth.

It is the taste of mercury.

When they take thyroid away which is targetorgan for mercury from

silverfillings, mercury goes right down into throat and body.

See my earlier post about the proof I have that this is true.

I have been investigating this for three years but have been very sick from

mercury for thirty years.

Go to searchengine google search for word " amalgam " and you will find info

for a lifetime.

As I am looking at the paperwork, the TT was actually on 10/18/02.

It would be very

> unusual to have had 2 courses of RAI since Nov 02.

Everything so far has seemed unusual, but I didn't realize the two

scans really were. We were quite shocked it ever got to this, as

docs were sure she did not have CA at all. All prior testing to

surgery read negative, from the ultrasounds to the needle

aspriation. The doctor knew he did not get it all, as the left lobe

nodule was 1.7 cm with extrathyroidal extension and focal involvement

of the inked surgical margin. It had actually grown right into her

left laryngeal nerve, which is the reason she has lost her voice. I

have every record of every test, pathology report, etc. The doc's

wish I'd stay home, I'm sure :o) But mom doesn't know what to ask or

what they are talking about, so I gotta take care of that, and her..

I believe she was given the two doses to see what they were dealing

with. She had never had a thyroid problem and was not on Synthroid

or anything. They gave her 7-mCi of RAI on 11/20/02 with total body

scan on 11/22/02, then she went back on 11/25/02 and was given 20-mCi

with another total body scan 11/29/02. The two were compared

with " no changes seen " .

Thanks for your input. I will check out the advanced group as well.

This is driving her nuts and although she has some really good

doctors, they kind of blow off her concerns, like she is talking

about a hangnail or something :o( ..

Hi Vanja:

Wow ! Thanks for the info. I will go check that out - she does have

a lot of silver fillings and it is driving her nuts.

Hi :

The radiation/oncologist told us that it goes by what the surgeon

says. If the surgeon says that they " were not able to get it all " ,

then it is a done-deal to get RAI and the EBR, which was my mom's

case, as hers had gone into the laryngeal nerve (vocal cord).

Sheri

> Sorry, I'm a " newbie " , and I was wondering why she needed the EBR.
