Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have 2 more weeks to go on a 16 week course of Zithromax and Ciprofloxacin to fight a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection causing my Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have a hair scalp inflammation, often referred to as «tender scalp». Through experience, I discovered that with Zithromax, 250 mg, 5 tablets per week, my hair scalp inflammation would increase in size and spread to new locations, whereby it would be held in check with 6 tablets per week. I now use the following protocol: Zithromax, 500 mg, on Mondays, and Zithromax, 250 mg, Tuesdays to Fridays, for a total of 6 tablets per week, in combination with Ciprofloxacin, 750 mg, every 12 hours, for 16 weeks. Ciprofloxacin is 100% effective against Pseudomonas for the first 2 months, but is still 75% effective now, and will regain its full effectiveness after an interruption of 2 months. Pain is a major problem with the above protocol. I was especially concerned with a strong knee pain that lasted 8 days. Fortunately, the pain has subsided today. I use 2 different forms of morphine, M-Eslon, 60 mg, every 12 hours, a slow acting morphine lasting 72 hours, and Statex, 5 mg, 3 tablets per day, a fast acting morphine that is effective for 6 hours only. I see good progress and I hope that my current course of antibiotics will reduce the number of Pseudomonas bacteria below the level where they do damage.
