Guest guest
I don't mind at all. I personally am not in a position where I can adopt a child now, but I think for a family with one deaf child it might be nice for both children to adopt another one. They would have someone who understands and the adoptive child would have a family who is already experienced in deaf issues. Deaf child needs home I hope it is okay that I send this to the list. I did this once before, and have recently learned that because of this list a family was ultimately found for another child who is hearing impaired!! Maybe it will happen again! Thank you! Schreiner Mom to Gabe, 5.5 (adopted from Cambodia) and Sam, 3 (adopted from Cambodia - hard of hearing) ***************************************************************** My agency places special needs children from China. Every few months they receive medical files on 8-12 children. This month, they have been able to place 8 of 10 children with families... However, there are still two little ones waiting. One is a precious 2 yr old little girl with very little vision. The other is a cute 6 yr old little boy who is deaf. If you, or someone you know is interested, please email me at bthompson4512@... or tthomp9215@... ... I have medicals and photos. Also, please feel free to forward my email to other groups. I adopted from Russia, so am not on the various China lists. .... would you mind forwarding to the other list for hearing impaired (weren't you the one who did this for me before?) That list was very helpful in finding another child a family. Anyway, I hope you all don't mind me posting this. The last time I posted, children became part of a family Thank you! Guest guest
My daughter was adopted from China with a known hearing loss, and I wanted to add that I think it is great that you are spreading the word to families that have experience and connections with hearing loss. I would love to adopt another child, and would especially love to adopt another child with a hearing loss. It's not possible for me at this time but I hope these children find homes fast. H. Re: Deaf child needs home Thanks, . That's what I think, too. It takes a lot of courage to willingly jump into parenting a child with any special need. I think its great to look for families for these kids in this type of forum, because although we all know there are challenges involved...we also know the joys, have some knowlege of the issues and know that the diagnosis is not as scary as it might first sound.
