Guest guest
Atenolol dosage is 25mg. No report for you on change in HR with Pindolol since I haven't started it yet (appt just yesterday). Your question is a smart one -- I wish I'd asked it! Possibly because he's moving from beta blocker to beta blocker? -------------------------Did your doc explain why he removed atenolol but not Cardizem? (Both lower the heart rate.) What was your atenolol dosage and what was the increase of the heart rate?

If you take Cardizem as an antihypertensive it could be replaced by other drugs, including other CCBs, that do not lower the HR. When I lowered the atenolol dosage from 100 mg to 50 mg my HR increased by about 5 points. Also, it appears the HR now fluctuates more.
