Guest guest
Chantelle, You know I wish you luck. Have you gone in to talk with your manager yet? Remember that you live the life you do but others don't. She may not understand the entirety of it. Give it to her in the bits that she can take. Only tell her the important information. The little things can wait. Tell her positively too. If the information sounds negative then people take it that way. By that I mean saying things like sure you are hearing and visually impaired but you have learned HOW to see and hear. Know what I mean? If you talk about your emotional responses don't make that sound intense either. Just say you are dealing with adult issues and need time for that independent of work. But also say that won't interfere with work. Then make sure you do that. Anyway, before you go in think to yourself you are fine, you are fine, you are fine. Then believe that. If you get emotional stop and just breathe. Count to ten in your mind before you say something spontaneous. It sounds like your boss is caring and wants to learn. You are lucky. Remember she is in an authority position so she'll want to fix or control things. And then let that go. She'll try to do that because she cares. Good luck.
