Guest guest
I too bounced back up in weight last year...I started at 240...got all the way down to 200 and went right back up to 217. It took me almost a year to drop 40 pounds but it only took me two months to gain almost half of it back! Stick around here for awhile....these ladies are wonderful and they make you want to drop the pounds! Guest guest
Missy, I found out I had CD after my oldest daughter was dx. I was about 10 lbs over weight at the time. After starting a GF diet I immediately put on about 10 pounds and over the course of a year, put on an additional 10 pounds as I was learning to bake GF cookies, cakes, etc........ I joined Weight Watchers 5 months ago and have lost over 20 pounds. Weight Watchers isn't a diet as much as it teaches you portion control and how to eat healthier. I joined because of pressure from my sister and I have to say it was the best thing I ever did. It fits easaily with a GF diet as you are eating the same foods you always did, just learning to eat in moderation. You can join online or go to weekly meetings. I love going to the meetings. It is something I look forward each Saturday morning. It is a pain at first to keep track of the " points " that you are eating but after a week or so I learned the value of different foods and it became no big deal at all. I am close to meeting my goal weight. After that, I will continue to attend meetings for free for the rest of my life. I don't ever want to carry around those 30 extra pounds again. There is also a GF weight watchers yahoo group that I belong to. I had tried the South Beach diet but found I was resentful of having to cut even more foods out of my diet. Also, your body does need carbs. Diets really don't work, but relearning how to properly eat does. Good luck, Cari > >Reply-To: SillyYaks >To: SillyYaks >Subject: Weight >Date: Wed, 07 Sep 2005 23:12:39 -0000 > >Does anyone struggle with their weight due to the diet? It's glutenfreeweightwatchers.com. You have to join through yahoogroups just like you joined "SillyYaks". It isn't as active as this group but a good place to get advice and support. I have gotten some good GF recipes from the group.Cari

I was told it was because of the steroids in the medication. I had no appetite but the weight kept coming on. I also went through menopause due to the chemo. 5 months later and with alot of water drinking, exercise and watching wwhat i eat i still weigh the same. Have a great and wonderful day!! Guest guest
I gained alot of weight also I was 130 before chemo and I'm at 185lbs now. The Dr's doing thyroid test next week to see if the chemo did any damage. I'm excerising, drinking water and really watching what I'm eating but I keep gaining. I'm also having surgery to have a lump taken out of the side of my neck next week, in between all the 3 month testing for cancer spreading. Guest guest
I've a question on weight. When I went into pre op my weight was 185. when I went into have biopsy removed, I was 195. When I had post op exam I was 189 ( I think) My thyroid is fine, but I cannot keep weight at a certain number. I eat carefully drink lots of water and use little to no salt. Any ideas if this could be linked to adenosis, which is a glandular thingy. anna bennett wrote: I gained alot of weight also I was 130 before chemo and I'm at 185lbs now. For that being said, I am truley blessed. Lady Amerald Wulf Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about. Just $16.99/mo. or less
