I think we also need a Paramedic, an EMT-I, and an EMT Basic on the

commission, who are representatives of the profession and not any of the other

categories.

This will be our commission, ssooooo I think we need more than just one

Gene. We should have several or more of each certification level.

Maybe. Although a first responder representative should be a

certified/licensed EMS professional.

I would not disagree. However, unless we're careful, the Commission will be

bigger than the Legislature. We need to do some critical thinking (there's

that phrase again) about this.

With the suggested list there is no guarantee that anyone primarily acting as a

1st responder will be included. That was all I was trying to point out.

For an EMS Commission to effectively represent the EMS community in Texas we

must include as many chairs at the table as necessary to provide an adequate

cross section of those involved in the delivery of EMS. I’m just not sure how

many chairs will be necessary.
