I'm no expert on this, but isn't diflucan to kill candida? If so,

taking antibiotics won't help, it will make the candida problem worse.

Antibiotics don't kill fungi they kill bacteria.

Again, I'm not a doctor, but I think the above is correct. I would

stop self-medicating and get myself to a doctor.

Good luck!

I think you should call a GI specialist at the closest major hospital

in your area immediately and after describing your symptoms, ask for

the first available appointment. The anemia and the constipation are

of concern. (This does not mean that it is cancer, but it may mean

that it is something that a good doctor can diagnose properly and get

you some treatment for.) Some of the drugs that you are taking may be

masking the real problem. If it turns out to be what you think it

is, you will be able to get better treatment for it. If it turns out

to be something more serious, you will also be able to get treatment

for it.

Best of luck,

Amie

Why on earth don't you have a colonoscopy, virtual or otherwise. Self

medicating

is not wise. If you feel you don't have a good doctor, why stay, visit a new

one.Some

arthritis meds and some pain meds do cause constitpation..others just the

opposite,

you are only fooling yourself, and not doing a good job of that. Living is

most peoples

objective. Longevity is the aim of the majority of the population. use common

sense,

go see a new doctor, get tests, and follow that advise. Sorry to be blunt but

the

proverbial ounce of preventions costs a lot less than a pound of cure.

Praying that

you make the right decision, Nick & Jane

I will repeat what other's have said. If you don't like your Dr find a new

one! I also fooled myself for two years before mentioning a problem to my Dr. I

blamed it on my age and weak muscles or anything I could think of. Really cancer

never entered my mind or else I would not let it. When I did go to Dr for tumor

on my leg which is harmless and I have had for years I happen to briefly mention

contispation. Right away I was sent for a colonscopy. Before I got off the table

I was told I had colon cancer. Thankfully it was still stage 2. I had surgery

for colon resect on 7/1/03. The tumor had just about blocked the colon and had

gone through the colon wall. 14 lymph nodes tested negative and I was told they

got it all. I stayed on this list for awhile longer but then decided I did not

belong here. After all I did not have cancer. Well I did not stay off list very

long. They then found something on pancreas which at this point do not think is

anything to worry about or cancer but it is being watched.

My surgeon did not like my CEA results and even though all MRI and cat scans

showed nothing he ordered a pet scan. I have my first appointment with

oncologist on Thursday to start chemo is the plan right now. Thankfully the pet

scan picked up more cancer in colon and it is small yet. Please see a Dr ASAP it

may not be cancer but you will get some help.

Hi,

I want to second and third what the others have replied. You do not

mention if you have had a colonoscopy done and if you are currently

being treated by a gastroenterologist for the spastic colon. It is

very important to find out what these symptoms are about so that

treatment is based on what is actually happening and not what you or

your doctor is guessing at.

My reasoning for this is: My husband had symptoms for months before

he went to the doctor(being a typical He-Man he downplayed his

symptoms) so he was misdiagnosed twice, once with bacterial infection

of the colon and then with a hernia. Unfortunately, several months

later we found out differently and he found that he had a complete

obstruction of the bowel due to a cancer tumor. He was diagnosed

stage iii but then after resection would not complete the chemo

(hated the chemo and the needles). Now he is stage iv with mets to

liver and pelvic, having no treatment and basically just enjoying the

time he has left.

DO NOT WAIT. Make an appointment Monday and get it looked into. If

it is the worst, being cancer, if caught early is very curable.

Please seek medical opinions in this.
