Guest guest
I was just checking my calendar. I am having my hip resurfaced on October 15 in Galesburg Illinois. Now I see that this date is going to coinside with my period. What a horrible thought!!!!!!!!! Has any woman had this happen to them and how hard would it be to take care of yourself during this time just coming out of surgery??? I wasn't at all prepared, so they gave me some of the peri-pads that they use for new moms. Wasn't a big deal. Since you know, you can be prepared... ___________________________________ Involved, http://www.involved.com

Guest guest
Hi, Ditto ...................suspect that the body just dumps as a reaction to the trauma............ I was prepared...... I bleed very heavily which got them a bit excited and they immediately put me on iron tablets to help ...........but I just took it as yet another one of those joys that happen when you have major surgery.........and for most of us dignity has to be left at the hospital door anyway.............. Guest guest
Dear Jan, I'm glad to know the other women had no problems, but I deliberately chose to schedule my op to be sure I WASN'T having mine. While I recovered quickly, the first two days of recuperation can be tough, and if you wind up needing to be catheterized (like I did) that's a whole other level of hassle and mess. I just knew I'd be more comfortable without having to worry about it. If you can't or don't want to resked, be sure to tell the nurses when you check in so provisions can be made. The ordeal might shake up your hormones to delay it a day or two, anyway - who knows. Good luck! All the best, Sheila > I was just checking my calendar.
