Guest guest
Hi Joe- My oncologist told me that it is an average of 3-4 mths to get improvement. The Oxaliplatin literature says that 1% of people have residual neuropathies at 1 yr. Remember, 5-FU can also cause neuropathies, although not so dramatic as with oxaliplatin. Hope things get better for you soon. Guest guest
Joe, Most of the text I read states it could take up to a year for feeling to return. Like you, my sister's hands and feet continue to get worse - and she's been off Oxilaplatin since November of 2003. Her oncologist told her that it is permanent. > I have been off oxaliplatin (folfox) and on CPT-11 (folfiri) for a > month but it seems that my hands and feet are getting more numb > instead of getting any feeling back.
