Guest guest
We are in St. Louis, MO. We moved here from Hawaii to get services from St. Louis Childrens Hospital. Originally we worked with Dr. Rodney who is now in Colorado somewhere. If you have the resources to go anywhere he would be the guy I would see for sure. There are not many in the field that I know of who are kinder or know more about hearing loss. If you want to stay closer to home our current doc is Dr. Clarey (not sure about the spelling) at St. Louis Childrens. They have a great program and great staff. Hope this helps and please let me know if we can help in any way (getting phone numbers etc.) Regards, Tim > >Reply-To: Listen-Up >To: " Listen-Upyahoogroups (DOT) com " <Listen-Up > >Subject: Best ENT >Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2004 08:31:36 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Sender: kimniccolai@... >Received: from n18.grp.scd.yahoo.com ([66.218.66.73]) by mc3-f9.hotmail.com >with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.6824); Wed, 2 Jun 2004 06:35:04 -0700 >Received: from [66.218.66.157] by n18.grp.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 02 Jun >2004 13:31:50 -0000 >Received: (qmail 19935 invoked from network); 2 Jun 2004 13:31:48 -0000 >Received: from unknown (66.218.66.216) by m17.grp.scd.yahoo.com with QMQP; >2 Jun 2004 13:31:48 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO smtp811.mail.sc5.yahoo.com) (66.163.170.81) >by mta1.grp.scd.yahoo.com with SMTP; 2 Jun 2004 13:31:48 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO KIM) (kimniccolai@...69 (DOT) 208.170.99 >with login) by smtp811.mail.sc5.yahoo.com with SMTP; 2 Jun 2004 13:31:40 >-0000 >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jGRQ8lYqu8YN+zAHlqGucgy >X-eGroups-Return: >sentto-173326-28013-1086183109-trydees=hotmail.com@... >X-Apparently-To: Listen-Up >Message-ID: >X-MSMail-Priority: Normal >X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook IMO, Build 9.0.2416 (9.0.2910.0) >X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1409 >X-eGroups-Remote-IP: 66.163.170.81 >Mailing-List: list Listen-Up ; contact >Listen-Up-owner >Delivered-To: mailing list Listen-Up >Precedence: bulk >List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:Listen-Up-unsubscribe > >Return-Path: >sentto-173326-28013-1086183109-trydees=hotmail.com@... >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 02 Jun 2004 13:35:04.0460 (UTC) >FILETIME=[697A24C0:01C448A6] > > > > > I am in Northwest Illinois and currently go to Loyola. Guest guest
My daughter was implanted by Dr. Rodney as one of his last patients in St. Louis before he moved to northern Colorado. He is a fantastic pediatric implant surgeon (and he does adults as well) and has implanted over 250 patients. Here's some current info on him: Dr. is the only fellowship-trained pediatric ear, nose and throat specialist in northern Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. He is affiliated with the Alpine Ear, Nose & Throat in Fort and Loveland. In Fort their number is . Dr. earned a national reputation for his work with cochlear implants at the St. Louis Children's Hospital. He launched the hospital's pediatric cochlear implant program in the early 1990s. While in St. Louis, Dr. also served as a professor at Washington University School of Medicine. He is also a past president of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO) and American Broncho-Esophagological Association (ABEA). Aside from family considerations, Dr. moved to Fort to meet a need in the medical community. Prior to his arrival, northern Colorado had no pediatric ear, nose and throat specialist who specialized in cochlear implants. Pediatric ENT specialists treat a wide range of conditions in children, including hearing loss, recurrent throat and ear infections, chronic sinus infections, congenital head and neck tumors, and airway problems. a * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * a Rosenthal, Join us for live chats Monday-Thursday 9pm Eastern at http://www.hearingexchange.com/chat.html

Guest guest
Hi Kim, I live in Downers Grove, and have to agree with the suggestion of Dr. Young. We see her out in Westchester at the satellite Childrens Memorial Hospital office. Our Audiologist is Joy Ringger. Both are excellent and you couldn't find a better audiologist. Truly. We've been through the ringer (no pun intended, well, maybe a small one) with audiologists and she is by far the best one. As for ENT's, don't EVEN get me started on that road. Dr. Young is fabulous, as well as being VERY highly regarded among her peers. Good luck with your search. Amy Mother to 7 1/2--bilateral, mild sloping to moderate aided with Oticon digital hearing aids--diagnosed at 5 1/2, but HI since birth and 6--bilateral, mild sloping to moderate, aided with Oticon digital hearing aids, diagnosed at 4, but HI since birth Best ENT I am in Northwest Illinois and currently go to Loyola. Any better ideas? Good Morning, I am trying to gather some information on the best Pediatric ENT and hospital for my son. Dylan is now 12 years old. His hearing loss was found at 3. They always told me " he was born that way. " I don't believe it. In the year 2001 we lost another 25db for no apparent reason. We tried steroids, all sorts of tests and finally surgery to see if he had " windows " that were leaking. They found a slight leak on one side and corrected it. His loss stopped, we don't know why. Well now we are loosing again and I would like to get some different opinions. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
