Guest guest
I thought that prilosec was banned. Or is it something else that sounds like it? Why dont' you try natural methods of dealing with reflux? Bill langansmom wrote: > Langan has TERRIBLE gas. We have used mylicon drops but they aren't > cutting it. Guest guest
, I've probably mentioned this before but digestive enzymes possibly could do the trick. Shan had terrible gas when she was at a 3.5-4.0 ratio. It was the result of not fully digesting her food. The digestive enzymes reduced it tremendously. Her gas had a bad smell. That was another indicator that she was not fully digesting her food. The bad smell went away immediately after beginning to use digestive enzymes. Rhonda Langan has TERRIBLE gas. We have used mylicon drops but they aren't cutting it. I think the gas is actually waking her up at night, and given the fact that this lamictal wean has her climbing the walls already, we really want to stop that! Any ideas? She takes prilosec for reflux 2X a day and that seems to be helping but the gastro doc said it actually CAUSES gas???? Talk about choosing an evil.... Thanks! , mom to Langan, 19 months old and keto kid since 11/03, but with REAL keto team since 3/04.
Guest guest
I have no knowledge of digestive enzymes. It sounds like something worth trying. I was thinking of propulsid, which was banned, I believe. For natural, I guess first of all, you have to rule out food intolerance. I am lactose intolerant, but it only occurred when I was in my 30's. Then, with my daughter we went to more meals, smaller meals, keeping her at 45 degree angle for 20 minutes after meals, raising the head of her bed by 4 inches. We give some soda water at the end of the meal to get any gas to come up. Even then we had awful reflux for quite a while. We had to lower the keto ratio until things settled down. As a baby she had projectile vomiting and was failure-to-thrive, so I know how difficult it is. Would any meds cause digestive problems? Maybe. Tucker wrote: > I am all for natural remedies.
