Guest guest
Rhonda K., Hi, welcome to the group! I'm sorry you've had a frustrating year trying to get a firm diagnosis. I have a right-sided UU with a solitary kidney. I don't know a whole lot about BU vs. SU, but I do have Tricare insurance and wanted to let you know they will allow you to see a reproductive endocrinologist (RE), and those doctors know SOOOOO much more about uterine anomalies. Just have your PCM refer you for evaluation and treatment of a congenital uterine anomaly. Best of luck! Guest guest
Wow Thank you for posting that cause they dont even have RE listed at healthnetfederalservices web page---and I didnt think they would let me go....My PCM is off post so do you think it would be harder to have that authorized?---so what happens do they just send you us to a out of net work RE? cause I have found Endocr but not RE necessar in the net work--what region are you in? I am defin going to have to look into that after this appt on Friday--but then again maybe that is who my OBGYN is consulting with he just said Fertility speci. so--not sure if thats a RE or what-- Rhonda K., >

I was living in land when I was first diagnosed and saw an RE. Now I'm in Las Vegas and have to go to the military hospital. When I was in MD, we had the option of choosing from several different military hospitals--Bethesda and Walter or the local dinky one--or going off-base to s Hopkins. They didn't advertise that one too much and tried to scare you out of it if you expressed interest, but I still chose s Hopkins through Tricare. I saw Hopkins doctors at a clinic just down the street from me and when they referred me to an RE, I did see a s Hopkins RE (but it still took an hour to get to her office because the traffic in that area was just horrendous). I wish I could be more helpful about the in-network and out-of-network referrals, but I do know you shouldn't have any problems getting to see one for the evaluation and treatment of a congenital uterine birth defect; that's what my PCM wrote on my referral and I had an appointment with my RE within a month of my appointment with my PCM. Best of luck! Becki 28, UU, solitary kidney
Guest guest
OMG a month---why dosent that suprise me lol well I will find out what the Dr says this Friday--that the fertility spec thinks---ugg He did give me the option for a second oppion at duke or chapel hill I guess I should just go to my PCM and get him to put it in---do you think RE is what I need---I will ask my GYN friday what type of spec looked at my Pics--and go ahead and get that referral in and hopefully get a appt pretty fast---They better not try and send me here close by or womack---cause from what i have heard they dont do nothing for uterine anomalies---and my Gyn is pretty good--so, if I am going anywhere else it will be UNC....When he said Duke or Chapel hill I was like OMG!! those are the TOP places here in NC--I must be really a CASE!! hehe we are all just special! Guest guest
Rhonda, I am looking over about a months worth of emails and so your post. I am from NC also and have a Unicornuate uterus. I went to Wake Forest University Physicians. (Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem) They were the ones who discovered that I had UU and followed me throughout my pregnancy. That baby is now 12 years old. I went a day over my due date in fact. THey were great especially Dr. Maggie Harper. I don't know where in NC you are but you may want to look into WF. > >Reply-To: MullerianAnomalies >To: MullerianAnomalies >Subject: Re: my uterus (Rhonda K) >Date: Tue, 15 Feb 2005 07:22:45 -0000 > > >Wow Thank you for posting that cause they dont even have RE listed >at healthnetfederalservices web page---and I didnt think they would >let me go....My PCM is off post so do you think it would be harder >to have that authorized?---so what happens do they just send you us >to a out of net work RE? cause I have found Endocr but not RE >necessar in the net work--what region are you in?
