He told me, you are in paroxsysmal(Sp?) afib because you always convert on your own,in and out of NSR, with or without the help of antiarrythmics. We use the terms chronic and permanent to describe someone who is in afib 24/7 and who we cannot convert to NSR even with cardioversion. Persistent describes a patient who is in afib most of the time, but can still be converted with cardioversion. I hope I am accurately reporting what he said.
