Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Share Posted January 2, 2006 How many of you did monthly self exams and did not feel your lumps but then they showed up on a mammogram? This is what happened to me. Even after I learned about the lump I could not feel it. I worry that many women don't get mammograms because they don't feel anything. I don't remember where I heard or read this but most lumps are caught by mammograms. To me, my lump seemed to appear out of nowhere one day. And, hopefully, it was really early. I met the radiation dr today and he said he will wait for radiation until I see my oncologist, in case the onc will recommend chemo. In that case I would have chemo and then radiation. My appt with oncologist is Tues. the 10th. I never used to remember to do monthly self exams. Happy New Year to all! My cancer was caught on mammograms via micro calcifications nearby the lump. The tumor was 1.1 cm. Let us hear what you find out.
