Guest guest
All, with all the drugs we have to take and all the side effects we suffer, Here is one for the books that may help out. Having no thyriod (thanks to Amioodarone) I seem to be prone to a gippy tummy. Sometimes it can last for 24 hours and I am up all night. I have found that all the tables from the local chemist dont work and I am frightend of taking them. My neibours work for the EMCA Euro meds control agency, like the FDA, they are pharmacists. When told, of the problems they said try a can of coke, normal not diet. It would seem that the agencies in Africa use on the babies with bad runs. Its a known fact but the drug companies wont let the drs use this as, it dents the profits. Its better than all the drugs and the high sugar levels give the body back the energy, the fluid in the drink replaces the lost fluids and the chemicals in the coke clear up the bugs. Let me know. We got it at the pharmacy. Guy

Don't worry , the drug companies have no control over Doctors whatsoever. They are free to prescribe whatever they wish (bearing in mind guidlines they get from the NHS bodies such as NICE and their own knowledge) If they believe that Coke will help, they will prescribe it. A simple cure for dehydration in places like Africa is a spoonful of sugar and a pinch of salt in a glass of water*. This can often give a child a thirst back so that they then want to drink more fluid. *Please check correct proportions of salt/sugar and water before trying this at home...or in Africa.
