Guest guest
OK, I'm totally ignorant about glucose levels. Haven't measured at all (other than once when there was a vague concern about diabetes because of excess thirst and tiredness). Do you measure glucose regularly??? If so, what figures do you expect? When you do test? Is this all to do with foods that have a low GI??? (mushrooms and broccoli are good???) I think Francesca is probably far more sensitive to things than I have ever really believed. I'm thinking about the aspartame issue here too... next step once drug free I think... Thanks , Mum to Francesca, Keto Kid since Sept 03, 7th birthday on Sunday, not quite sure of what the birthday cake will look like, but Snow White will be there for her (!), next Epilim drop 30th April - 50% reduction - scary stuff but it's going so well I think we'll be drug free on 15th May! PS I've been looking through my notes tonight of Francesca's seizure and behaviour and sleep history, and cannot believe the drug ups and downs that we've been through and why we waited so long before going on the diet (given that we were lucky enough to have that choice in the UK - unusual I know - a benefit of being in London I guess). I LOVE THE KETOGENIC DIET FOR FRANCESCA EVEN THOUGH WE DON'T HAVE 100% CONTROL BECAUSE I'M COMPLETELY SURE IT WILL HAPPEN EVENTUALLY... > Hi , > I think there is a definite link to both ketone AND glucose levels. > Matt is very affected if his meals are late even if ketones still ok, also > foods that release glucose faster seem to have an adverse effect. > Just my thought for the day, > nICOLA > > >
Guest guest
Hi , I have not measured the glucose levels, Matt hates the blood monitor. My theory started before the keto diet when I noticed certain food made him worse and I noticed the link was they caused glucose levels to rise quickly(some Atkins texts have been helpful re that research).I am not going to monitor blood glucose as yet, poss start monitoring urine gl but that is so inaccurate . Is Francesca still having aspartamine in her diet?If so are yuo going to try to eliminate that after the drug wean is over -following the one thing at a time rule :.)
