Yes, the radiation oncologist is the expert on radioactive iodine.

He or she will schedule and interpret your RAI treatment and the

associated tests and scans. Once your RAI is over, you should be

under the care of an endocrinologist -- preferably one who treats

other thyca patients. The endo will work on adjusting your meds

properly so that your TSH is suppressed and you feel well; he or

she will also continue to monitor your condition by scheduling

blood tests and scans as appropriate. Both doctors should be happy

to answer ANY questions you have about your condition, its treatment,

and followup care (if they're not, it's Nature's way of telling you

to look for a new doctor).
