Guest guest
I just laugh sometimes and cry others. Our son will go through the house and turn every water faucet on and put a cup over it so the counters flood. We were locking the bathroom door because he kept taking the faucet off the bathtub. He started using hangers to break into the bathroom. Its always something he gets obsessed with. He loves water. He used to line up his shoes and pull the laces straight out to the side on every one. When he gets tired at night he spins on the floor as fast as he can. Spinning and running in place is one of his favorite wind down habits. You lose or break one habit just to be replaced by an old or new one. I get tired just thinking about it. Sundi 's latest night time antics Hi everyone I know I should be clearing lots of mails and responding to some but has been continuing in her night time antics! Now she is off school her sleep pattern is screwed (not helped by her CI operation) - Flo is very unamused due to lack of sleep. Tonight (it is actually morning here now) she is still awake. Her bedroom now resembles a punishment cell the amount of stuff we remove when she goes to bed. But she still finds mischief, having disconnected her side light she has realised that she can put the fish tank light on (yes this is still taped up pending removal) and after hearing much laughter I entered her room to find rows of hangers carefully hung on the venetian blind in her room. The clothes had been removed from the hangers earlier this week on another evening's entertainment. What else is going to have be removed? Guest guest
tears photos at times - especially the ones she loves. I haven't figured this out... Sleep deprivation is the absolute pits, I've decided. Did I tell the group that one day this week the blessed Miss K. was up by 2:35? No joy in that at all. I truly don't know how we're functioning --- or perhaps we're not. Martha

Guest guest
Simon, Since 's sleep problems have resurfaced I hesitate to say something happened in the past --- my OCD surfaces as I knock on wood. That aside, I remember several times when we had to remove all toys, etc. from 's room. We never did it prior to bed but only after " they " caused problems. I think that caught on quickly (though remember that this happened several times and doubtless will again). We didn't have hanging hangers (what a phrase), rather disassembled them. At 21, I just wish we knew how to make her sleep through the night. Andy and I are zonked. Good luck. Martha

Guest guest
Simon, I am sorry but I am sitting here with the biggest smile. I can just picture the hangers. That must have taken tons of thinking and then tons of hard work. What a little smarty pants. Guest guest
Martha, I hear ya! Our Miss , who's only 4, has been up since 2:00 a.m.--and that's with only a 10-minute nap yesterday and a dose of trazedone before bedtime! So, it's 5:30 a.m. now, I've already been up for 3 1/2 hours, and I have a full day of work ahead--not to mention the most sleep in one night that I've had for the past several weeks is 6 hours, and it's my busy time at work so I'm working 50 to 60 hours a week. I'm beginning to wonder how I'm still functioning... Friends in sleeplessness, , mom to (4) --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Hi, have you tried Melatonin (the vitamin) my daugter bianca ( 9 year old charger) has been taking 6 mg about 2 hours before bed for quite some time now and it seems to help some, every once in a while she wakes up in the middle of the night. when i first started her on Melatonin (which was suggested by the nerologist) i started her on 3 mg at bedtime (she is also on 54mg conserta per day (which is a stimulent), so now i have had to bump her up to 6 mg Melatonin per night, her nerologist says up to 9 mg Melatonin is ok for her age. i does seem to make her sleepy ,she even asks me for it, so i guess she feels it helps her too ! NOTE: my daugters nerologist says Melatonin is naturaly made in the body, but some people dont make enough and this is why they have trouble sleeping. good luck sandy( mom of 9 year old charger bianca) lewcap@... wrote: Simon, Since 's sleep problems have resurfaced I hesitate to say something happened in the past --- my OCD surfaces as I knock on wood. Guest guest
As I read these posts, I am laughing, but only because I can so see my little doing these exact things one of these days. She is a handful and you have all just given me a glimpse into our future. At the moment, we have been able to keep her in her crib, but that was only after moving everything out of reach so that she couldn't use something to help her get out. The only thing close to her bed is her feeding pump and she will get up and turn it off, then turn it back on and wait. She has learned that when she does this, the lights will flash and eventually the alarm goes off and someone comes in to fix it. We have had many nights of turning it off, moving it away from her bed and waiting for her to fall asleep to turn it back on. Only to be up in the middle of the night when she wakes for her " party " in her bed and does it all again. Thanks for letting me know it will get worse. lol Mom to 3 yrs.
