Guest guest
Hi Jeff etal, I think I probably have the record for being frozen before op.......... 35 years of a fused hip..........that means no movement whatever for 35 years........ regaining ROM is an uphill battle that is mine alone.........i.e. the BHR prothesis just means anything is possible if I do the work and can con/bludgen etc the muscles, tendons, ligaments etc into moving again............ Thankfully the little darlings have and show signs of improving more........... so more and more I get to take advantage of this wonderful gift that sits in my hip area............ with it already well beyond any texts would indicate possible after such a stint of frozen muscles etc............ In the general statement being that condition before surgery will very much determine what happens after, plus how much determination you personally have to exercise etc............. which is where my swimming and pool work is really paying off....... Right? " Not quite right. Almost 5 months post op BHR and my ROM has not improved from pre op. Although after a bone spur is removed in April I hope to experience a new ROM. It takes a bit of effort to put on shoes and socks and at times I need some help to do up a pair of sandals (Australian summer is Hot Hot Hot) however I can cope at present. After April look out.
