Guest guest
I sent this to egroups and it doesn't appear to have got through. Hope it doesn't come through twice! Hi everyone I went down to Wellington to see Dr Chiu and gave him a few chocolate truffles from us all :-) He is delighted with my progress but says I am not cured yet. He will not reduce my dosage till I have felt this good for at least 6 months and until there is no graunching in my tendons. He says the flares get further apart as you get better. He was a bit concerned about the severity and length of my huge flare in January. I told him that it was the last battle. I am not deflated. I have not felt this good in years. He was also concerned about how black I am getting. I had to reassure him it was just my olive skin plus doxy and it would fade in the winter. I haven't had the blood results yet. My next goal is to regain my former energy so I can do things in the evenings. I am fed up with falling asleep on the couch as soon as I get home from work! 6 months ago my goal was to be able to walk 1 km. Today I got down and sat on the carpet with my students without even thinking about it. I just noticed I was there sitting on the floor. I hadn't been able to get down on the floor easily for years. Hang in there everyone. It's worth it. Gail
