Kim,

I had a lot of spotting/bleeding too after my internal's. At my 38 week appt. I had a clot afterwards that had a lot of mucus with it... I thought it was my mucus plug until I lost my mucus plug! There is a difference! You'll know it too...

Kim,

Well, 1/2 cm is 1/2 cm closer then you were last week, right?! Hopefully

now that your body has started the process, it will just keep on going (at a

little faster pace though ;)!) and we will be receiving a wonderful

announcement soon that Christian has made his way into this world!!! SOON!!

I like what you told your dr...there is just only so much perky one can be!

I am so sorry dear that you have not progressed no

more. I understand that you must be getting very cranky.

When Madison was born she was at 36 weeks and I was so

cranky I could not even stand myself let alone anyone

else.I know I could not of even thought of making it to

40 weeks. I am glad your B/P was doing okay dear. I hope

you will go on your own soon and not have to be induced

either dear. Thinking of you!! Hugs, Dana R.

Dana R,

Thanks, I really feel the same way. It is terrible to feel so

miserable. And poor dh, one minute I am happy, the next cranky! I

know part of the problem is that i need to rest more, so I am really

going to try and do that, so that when this baby does arrive, I will

be in a good mood.

I am glad to hear that, I figured that it was not, but since I am new

at this, I thought that I would ask. A girl can hope... The internals

are so uncomfortable, glad they did not have to happen all the way

throught pg!

Amy R,

Yes, 1/2 is better than 0, and that was all I wanted to hear today,

that I had made some bit of progress. I guess we are all just so

excited to meet this baby, and with the way I was feeling, we thought

for sure that I would go early. The baby has other ideas though!

My doc told me today that the average is for first time babies to

come 5 days late. I am still hoping on a little early though! His due

date is 2 days before my B-day, so I would really like an early B-day

present!

Hope you are feeling well.

These weekly visits do not sound like fun. I am glad you are making a

little progress. I hope your little one arrives on his own.

Kim,

Oh no! 5 days late for first timers?! That's not good. I spoke to

my insurance co. the other day...apparently I was suppossed to notify

them once pg was confirmed, OOPS! Anyway, I also asked about billing

then since I'm due so close to the end of the year...and as long as I

go into labor and am admitted to the hospital in this calendar year

it will all be billed as part of this year...that sure would be nice

cause then I wouldn't have to pay the deductible and out of pocket

expenses for another year again..the whole thing would be fully

covered. As I get further along, I may even bring up the possibility

of induction before the year expires with my dr...I mean, there isn't

much difference between going 2 days overdue (which would put me at

12/31/01) and 7 days, is there? Well, I kind of went off on a little

tangent there, I guess seeing your dr's quote of an average, made all

these thoughts come to the surface :P I still have plenty-o-time to

think this one through!

Amy R,

I do not know the difference in inducing at 7 days versus 2 either. I

asked my doc today why we could not go in the day after my due date

and do it, why we had to wait 5 days. He said - glad he is thinking

of his patients - that Tuesdays are the day he is down here(he also

has an office where he is 4 days a week 1.5 hour away), so sine I am

down here and going to the hospital here, he only induces on Tuesdays

when he is here all day. Go figure, the doc and the insurance always

get their ways.

Kim,

I think it is pretty common to have some spotting when the do the

internal exams, especially at the end. Though I must say, I never

made it to 37.5 weeks with Daisy, so I'm not really sure! I'm

hoping you won't need to be induced! Come on, Christian!

Take care,

DeeAnn

The bleeding is completely normal. That could have been the mucus plug, but only time will tell. Hold on sweetie, it's almost over.

My 37.5 week doc appt

Hi ladies,Well I had my appt today, and not much more progress than last week. I am a 1/2 cm dilated, I thought that the doc said one, dh says that he said a fingertip, which is a 1/2 cm, but either way, something is going on in there. I am just so glad the dr could fit you into his schedule...geez! I guess it

doesn't bother him a bit if you have to wait 5 more uncomfortable days, does

it?! Well, I sure hope you have thought and worried about this for nothing

and don't end up needing to wait those extra days. Come on, Christian!!!

You can do it!! :)
