Just got a call from the rheumy who said all my blood work looks good

after the first month on MTX. Told him about a little bit of heat but

it's not too unlivable. Also, that MTX takes away some of the feeling

of " heaviness " and " resistance " in my movements.

He said in their phone consultation the neuro expected it would be

slow progress ... maybe six months to see real results. My

expectations are pretty low ... even just slowing down the progression

of weakness would be a good thing!

As Lynn said, one of things we get is a sense of humor, to that I'll

add patience, patience, patience!!!!<g>

CPK is on a downward trend from 373 in April to 291 in July to 236

last week (after 4 weeks of treatment). Not big leaps, but it wasn't

as high to begin with as so many of you all have.

Going to the mountains for about a week in a few days so we'll see

about the altitude effects (6400 ft elev. at the house.) I'm planning

to keep the stress to a low level and enjoy nature. Not sure if we'll

have Internet access.
