Guest guest
Ginny; >>>During the diet's initiation period in hospital we were given a whole list of free foods which as far as I am aware can be given to our daughter to be eaten in unrestricted, unweighed quantities. Is there anyone else who uses such an unlimited list? (It also includes things such as tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, olives, broccoli, courgettes.) turnips<<<< Wow--In answer to your question, no, children do not typically get a list of free foods during initiation; in fact, many are recommended not to have any " free " foods until they have settled into the fine tuning stages. I have never heard that long list of veggies listed as free, especially in unrestricted quantities. Is your hospital doing the keto diet or Atkins (even Atkins doesn't allow these freely)? I would seriously question them, because that is something really different from other centers. All those veggies have carbs. Even lettuce is limited to an extra leaf (1/2c torn) by Hopkins, and olives are strictly limited in number when given " freely. " At our center, Jello is not " free " but we were able to get away with 60cc without problems after half a year on the diet. I'm really glad you aren't seeing problems.
