Hi

I wrote a checklist for TT surgery in msg 19860. Item # 3 in this

check list is:

3. Find a Low Residue Diet and eat this way for two days before the

surgery. My anesthesiologist said if he had any words of advice then

it would be to tell me to do this as you do not want to be

**straining** after this surgery. He was right! It was an easy

diet and I am very, very, very glad I did this. Here is one link but

I just searched on Google, found 4 of them and compared them to find

a plan that worked for me.

Also - there is a secret trick to getting up after you have the

surgery - I did not know about this in time but I hear it works -

when you go to get out of bed etc - put you hand behind your neck to

give some support (prevent straining) just before you stand up and

while standing up. I did have trouble rising up out of a lying down

position at first and this seems like it would have been a big help.

Cheers
