Guest guest
Good to see that you are my people...LOL I am dying of exhaustion and the world around me just doesn't understand. I have never been on thyroid medicine. I had my thyroid removed over 6 weeks ago. I had a nodule and they couldn't tell if it was cancereous in the biopsy. I went into surgery thinking they were going to remove half my thyroid and woke up with cancer. I am going for the interview and pill on Friday Jan 10th and body scan on Monday Jan 13th. The RAI treatment on Jan 14th. I saw some of the posts where doctors didn't even want people driving when off the medicine. I have been working full time because I am at a new job and do not have enough sick time or vacation to cover my days until my treatment. Whine..Whine...LOL. Ok, for my questions now. 1st question. I am going to be starting taking medicine for thyroid replacement after my treatment. My doctor was not believe in Synthroid(has never be FDA approved). She prescribes the pill that combines T4 with T3. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how they were doing on it? 2nd question. Once you went back on the medicine did most of you lose the weigh that you gain off your meds? 3rd question. Also I was wondering of weight loss/weight gain in general. Are you able to maintain normal weight with medicine? 4th question. Also what have you heard about Soy and thyroid problems....as a vegatarian...the low iodine is about to kill me. I really can't eat much. Any vegatarians out there live through the Low iodine diet? Any tips? I feel like the line from the Prince song... " Please forgive me if I am rambling. " Two weeks ago my TSH was 35(sure it is a lot worse now) and I worked 9 hours today, so my message might not be as clear as I would like it. Thanks for any advice you can give me, D....going to go take a nap now.
