Guest guest
Hello ladies, Well, I had the HSG today. The preliminary results are: right tube, perfectly clear, the dye went right through; left tube, delayed spilling of the dye, though some did come throughafter a while. The resident that performed the procedure said that the dye usually follows the path of least resistance. So that could mean that my left tube is narrow, or it is scarred or partially blocked from the ep surgery. She made it very clear that we should still be able to have children. After all, isn't that why we have 2 tubes and 2 ovaries, so we have a backup? So I'm trying not to worry about it. . .but the idea of another ep on the left does scare me. I keep wondering if Daisy was from my right ovary, and that's why the early parts of that pg were so uneventful? I have so many questions . . . but I'm sure that many will be answered at the RE appt 8/2. It's been a very emotional day for me. I wasn't expecting it to hurt so much! I took Ibuprofen 800 mg before, but it didn't touch the pain when they were trying to force the dye through the left tube. I almost jumped off the table! I also thought dh would be able to be in the room, but they said I was the only one getting radiation today. I suppose that's okay, bc Daisy was with us, and she certainly doesn't need any radiation. (We still have yet to put her into daycare or even have her go to a babysitter. . .it's just so hard to trust someone with your baby!) Daisy did keep things interesting. We now know that she is scared of elevators! She screamed so loud and turned bright red, tears streaming down her face. Those terrible, terrific, twos--gotta love em! So, does anyone else have a similar experience with the HSG? I'm wondering exactly what it means that the dye didn't go through at first, but then did? Any input would be appeciated--you gals are the best listeners and resources for info! Take care, DeeAnn
