Guest guest
, I know you are so frustrated with the lack of creditability of these professionals. I've been there before with audis, and to some degree with dishonest (not disclosing important information) neurologists. Definitely go to another audi, even it is a couple hours away. It will give you peace of mind which is totally worth the drive/effort. I wish you and your family the best. Robin
Guest guest
Has he been tested for Auditory Neuropathy? Basically that is when it appears someone is " hearing " sound (based on OAE's and ABR's), however they don't respond to sound or seem to actually hear. It seems that with the different results via different tests this may be something to look at. Of course, the reliability of the testing by different audiologists could be at play here as well. I hope you find some answers! Guest guest
Colin, From what I understand the ABR is the test that diagnosis AN and they haven't done one with alternating clicks as far as I know but they said that they know his response is not just microphonics because there is a shift in the waves or something like that. We have had some specialists in AN look at his ABR's but not his most recent one and they said whil it is similar because of delayed latencies it isn't the same.
