Do you know if the allergy drug Claritin is available over-the-

counter (without prescription) in Canada? My husband is miserable,

and I'm hoping to find someone willing to purchase some for me.

conditions -- checking with your pharmacist to make sure it is ok to

use in conjunction with any medications your husband is on.

I had very serious head/sinus problems. It was recommended by Dr.

Wm. Crook, Allergist. He recommended to start with about 5 drops,

twice daily. (The NOW brand was found to be superior to some I

tried.) It is quite bitter, but if you can purchase V-8 Mild Picante

(tomato juice product), you may add the drops into about 4 ounces of

the V-8, and it tastes fine. This will not dry up the sinus

problems, but rather drain/get rid of the sinus problem. If you are

getting the desired result, he will notice an increase of nasal

drainage. If not, increase the number of drops. It is felt in some

natural medicine circles (which I agree with) that if sinus drainage

is from an infection, then we need to get rid of it, not just dry it

up. I've also read that sinus problems are related to the gut. The

grapefruit seed extract is also beneficial against yeast overgrowth.

By helping with bad bacteria, it positively affects the sinuses,

also.

You might also consider using Benadryl in the pink package (an OTC

med), this type not containing pain medication and can be taken

longterm. This will inhibit the histamine response which brings on

inflammation and swelling, which may also help the sinus condition.

Mayo Research last year published their findings that nearly all

sinus conditions are caused by mold/fungi, instead of being simply

allergies.

Best,
