I had my appointment with my endo on Friday. It turns out my

thyroglobulin in increasing. Before my radioactive iodine treatment in

July my thyroglobulin was 39, in October it was 45 and in December it

was 52. I've read that levels of 5-8 indicate thyroid cancer

reoccurance... obviously I have a problem. I've been kept at a TSH of

0.2. Might this be a reason for the elevated thyroglobulin reading? I

asked my doctor on Friday (saying that I had learned in a Thyca support

group on the internet) if I should be kept at a TSH of 0.1 or lower and

she didn't seem to think so. Since my surgery I've switched endos

because I had bad treatment at the University hospital here in

Albuquerque. Before my iodine treatment I was not even told that

a " low iodine diet " existed... might this be a reason why the treatment

didn't work and my thyroglobulin is increasing? Whatever the reason

is, I was wondering if keeping my TSH at 0.1 or lower would suppress

the TSH enough so that my thyroglobulin would go down, or has the

damage already been done? My endo is already discussing possible

surgeons to operate on me again this spring... Can I avoid surgery by

lowering my TSH?
