Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone has expeirence with CRS (Children's Rehab Services) in Arizona. My daughter was just accepted my CRS for her specialist appointments. I was just wondering if any one has or does deal w/ them. Thanks, , mother of: Mikey- 2years 9months, 2 sets of tubes, hears but doesn't listen, & Katelyn- 6months profound hearing loss in both ears. Guest guest
Are you in Tucson or Phoenix? We have been to both, but for hearing only Tucson. I personally don't like the audi's here. I don't trust their interpretation of the audiograms because he is 3 and when he barely tilts his head they count that as a response and when he responds he really looks. That is just my experience though and is a difficult case. They don't do FM systems either. Arizona CRS I was wondering if anyone has expeirence with CRS (Children's Rehab Services) in Arizona. Guest guest
We are in Phoenix, is still too young to do much testing. She is 6 months old. She also has fluid in both ears which we are going to resolve w/ tubes and get her some new aids through CRS, her origanals are loaners from the Ear Foundation. Her old Audi was Ratigan at PCH who up and left w/out a word and i was never contacted, her new audi is July Darling w/ CRS (Phoenix). I met her for the 1st time yesterday. She had a good 1st impression on me. > Are you in Tucson or Phoenix? We have been to both, but for hearing only Tucson. I personally don't like the audi's here. Guest guest
That's good. I have been considering coming to Phoenix for a second opinion on the audiogram, because I know the audi we used in Tucson was counting responses that I am sure were not responses. She doesn't know him, he has no language ability and when he really heard the sound he looked, but there were other times he flinched or squirmed and she took that as a response. shows a mild loss on ABR and no loss on audiogram but he acts profoundly deaf, I think her interpretation of the audiogram is wrong. I can tell you at least 5 probably 10 times when she counted a response when I guarentee he didn't respond and he was just being 3 and fidgeting. We have already transfered his neurosurgery care to Phoenix, we have had him seen by Dr. Shafron there for years even before he became elegable for CRS, so when he did become elegable we transfered his CRS care to Phoenix. It is really hard for my hubby to take off work to go to Phoenix but I think we should at least do it once to get another opinion on audiogram. The only thing I really don't like about CRS is how it is limiting. It can be a real hassle. I almost wish we haden't applied for it, because now he can't be seen at the children's hospital anymore. I am very upset about this. Anyway you really don't have to worry about that though since your daughter is probably not expected to need to stay in the hospital unless she gets a CI and there are wonderful services for CI in Phoenix. In general for my older son CRS has been wonderful. He is 6 now and we are just now running into issues with conflicting insurance and where we can and can't go.
