Guest guest
Hi Joanne, and all, Thanks to those who wrote about making your own rice heating pad. Another easy way is to take an old pillow case, fill it with about 2 pounds of rice and sew across about six or eight inches from the bottom. Then sew two seams to divide it in half. Next, turn the pad so that you now have the pillow inside out and sew again, turn again until you get to the end and finish the last seam. You can then put the pad into a nother pillow case that can be washed. The layers insulate the heat and keep it from burning you and the seams down the center prevent the rice from shifting too much. I've had one that over six years old, still keeps the heat. I like to have one under my feet when I am sitting at the computer.
