Guest guest
Hello everybody! Something happened recently that has me going a bit crazy! I have been on Minocycline for almost 6 months now. All of it has been a herx too so not much relief for these past few months. Anyway, in the last week, I have felt worse than any other time in my life. I hurt in every joint I think I have. My whole hands are swollen to the point that some joints barely move, like my wrists and some fingers. What scares me though is that my mom asked me what was wrong with my fingers? When I looked down, I noticed that 2 of my fingers (both Index fingers) are turned inward. I guess you could say from the nuckle up, they are contracted and turn half way inward-HALF WAY! Is this another sign of my RA? It is not a nodule and I am rather confused. Also, it happened so fast. Due to the new Vioxx, heart disease scare, I went off the Vioxx a few weeks ago. Surely, that couldn't have caused this?? If that's the case, I just cannot believe how much worse my RA has gotten over a year. When I started Vioxx a year ago, it helped me get through the day-no real big deal. Now after being off of it, I can barely move this week. Could that be why I have been hurting in every joint so badly? I never thought it was helping that much, especially with only 1 a day. My husband is very concerned abut my fingers turning and wants to know if we can take a stronger AP approach or if it could be something else. Lyme disease test was negative, RA factor was neg. but doc feels that's what I have had for 3 years because of the high sed. rate and classic symptoms. He does not do mycoplasma testing and said that often you can have it and still test negative. He also only gives oral Mino which I had to talk him into. Someone mentioned seeing a wholistic doc that helped because the AP therapy alone was not working, too many other infections or something. I could handle waiting for the AP to work, even with the herxing pain but I don't want to lose the use of my hands/fingers. I was wondering what everybody's input is? This is really scary. I was planning on going back to nursing soon and after this week, I'm not so sure I can just yet. ~Roseanne~
Guest guest
You probabaly do need another anti-inflammatory. I tried coming off mine too early and couldn't because of the pain. And they do help prevent joint damage while the anti biotic works. Guest guest
First ask yourself this question. Have I been giving alot of Antibotics in past years? And if so did I develops any a white coating on my tongue? candidiasis From: nosdollgic@... Date: Thu, 27 Aug 2009 18:46:34 +0000 Subject: Very scared From what I've been reading, it looks to me like this is systemic in me. I've had problems in my eye, joints, nails, etc. I just read that there's a 50% mortality rate when it's systemic.Has anyone here been diagnosed as having it in their blood and gotten rid of it successfully? If so, how? I have an appointment with an infectious disease doctor at the Cleveland Clinic on 9/10. Is there anything I should be asking him in particular? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
I'm not sure what you mean by a lot, but when I have been prescribed antibiotics it was infrequently and not for more than a week. The white coating has appeared in the past, but I can't remember if it was connected to antibiotics. Why do you ask? Does it have anything to do with survival chances? > > > First ask yourself this question. Have I been giving alot of Antibotics in past years? Guest guest
Good news you are not going to die but if you don't get it resolved you will feel lousy most of the time. Candida Symptoms The longer the candida organism lives systemically in the body, the greater number of symptoms can develop. The Classic symptoms of yeast overgrowth include, digestive disturbances, diarrhea and/or constipation or altering between the two, tingling of the hands and feet, vaginal discharge, repeated vaginal yeast infections, headaches, a feeling of being disconnected with the environment, a spacey out of touch feeling, fatigue, excessive sleeping or insomnia alternating, adult onset allergies, sensitivity to smells, and many other fleeting health concerns. Since the symptoms can vary from person to person, it is important to understand that there can be potentially hundreds of symptoms linked to yeast overgrowth candidiasis From: nosdollgic@...
