Guest guest
Oh boy I don't know if they would do that. I don't think so but then I didn't have radiation. I do know you can only get a certain amount of radiation, and should anything ever happen and you get breast cancer in the other breast I am not sure they would be able to do radiation then. I would think it would be better not to have it. But that just my opinion. I am wondering if Ican request them to radiate both breasts just to be onthe safe side.I finished chemo on Nov. 17, I am feeling soooo muchbetter, even putting full days in at work......Those of you that have had the radiation adventureplease advise, will they think I am crazy for wantingboth breasts done???Thanks and Peace! __________________________________________ Yahoo! Guest guest
Hello , I don't think they will radiate a breast that doesn't have cancer. Radiation is not too bad so far but I will be glad when it is over. I have a constitution that it will not go over to my other breast. Take care-sharon Samardzich wrote: Hey Guys I have a question for you...This Thurs. I have to go in for my initial RadiationConsultation. Guest guest
I know also that they will not do this--I thought possibly before I started radiation that they might--however, I learned differently. If you had radiation on the (cancer-free) breast, if it ever developed a tumor you could not have radiation again-- Also, I saw a q about limits of chemo. I have a friend who is on chemo for years--it is a maintenance only, her metastasized tumors still exist in her lungs. Her oncologist feels she does well on it, at least well enough to warrant continued use. This same onco says when that one no longer works, we'll try another! Guest guest
Hi , It is tricky to give any advice, as the stakes are pretty high, but I wouldnt get both breasts radiated, unless your doctor thinks you should. The consistency of my radiated breast, and the nipple-sensitivity, is altered since my breast has been radiated. It, quite simply, isnt as beautiful as my other breast. (I always talk in these words when referring to the woman's body, as there has been so much negativity drilled in since we all were kids!) My radiated breast isnt bad, it really barely shows that it has been radiated, but still, I know the difference. Good luck to you. -- Ogut The Whole Brain Game -- It's Not What You Think But How You Think It -------------- Original message ---------------------- Hey Guys I have a question for you... This Thurs.
