Guest guest
, This one took me a long time to figure out. It sounds like reactive hypoglycemia. I’m no doctor, but what I’m told is that it actually is a low blood sugar crash. It happens to me ALL the time if I eat too many carbs or sugar or both together. The best solution is to have a little sugar right away (juice or yogurt work for me), wait 15 minutes or so until you can function again, then make sure you eat some protein. I’ve learned the warning signs now (sweaty, shakey, irritable), so I can eat something quick before it gets really bad. Always have food with you! I carry [peanut butter crackers or cheese stix around with me in case of emergency. - Alice A RNY 4/25/00 EDD 5/18/

Guest guest
<<<reactive hypoglycemia/blood sugar crash>>> That is EXACTLY what happens to me... However it only did it a few times in the beginning of my pregnancy and pretty much stopped. I could even eat ice cream while I was pregnant - with no major sugar effects (of course I didn't gorge on it but I ate it almost every day during my last trimester) Shirley
