Guest guest
I am surprised at the slim fast idea. most replacement diets don't work long term. It gives you nothing in the way of food plan or process for living. ww and slim fast I have heard several times now that a doctor has recommended either ww or slim fast as a weight loss program. I personally could never stick to slim fast. I need to have a lot of different tastes and textures and I need to chew and enjoy food, not drink it. Just my humble opinion. Guest guest
Actually it DOES give you what you need, both in nutrients for the day and also for the long term too. You replace any two meals with the bars or shakes, then eat snacks like fruit and popcorn, etc. in between and eat a normal dinner (or lunch). When you need to maintain you do the one meal replacement and then eat two meals and snacks in between. It works out to be the roughly the same number of points on our WW program and you've learned to eat regular food and watch your portions, same as WW. I haven't really done it for any extended period of time but I've done what another member just posted, grab the meal bars when I'm on the run with the kids and I know that it has the nutrients needed. Other " grabbing " choices out there don't have what we need and have the empty or useless calories or points. Basically, that type of plan teaches you the control and structure within which we all on this list (I'm assuming here...) need to maintain our weight--we can't go back to oversized portions or bad food choices at all if we want to keep the weight off and working the Slim Fast program is a way to reign in our choices and portions just as WW is. Guest guest
I've done slim fast in the past. I still use it to a degree on WW...I have a meal-on-the-go bar for breakfast Monday through Friday. It's quick, easy, yummy, and only 4 points. But the shakes don't cut it for me! ~~ > I have heard several times now that a doctor has recommended either > ww or slim fast as a weight loss program. I personally could never > stick to slim fast. Guest guest
Exactly! When I " did " slim fast many years ago, I did lose weight. UNTIL I went on vacation for a week. I ate like a normal person and never did get back on the slim fast " plan " .... ~~ > I am surprised at the slim fast idea. most replacement diets don't work long term. Guest guest
Just wondering, I use those meal replacement bars often for breakfast but have figured them out at 5 points. Is there another type you are using that's only 4?? The smaller snack size bars are 3 points, but come in a 24-bar box for 8.99 at Sam's Club so I use those once in awhile instead of the 2-point bars from WW that are 4.50 for a box of 4. Let me know about those meal bars and which ones you are using?? The shakes gag me also, lol!! Re: ww and slim fast I've done slim fast in the past. Guest guest
I just went and double checked all the flavors I have, and they all come to 4 points. I don't use those bars that say you have to drink a glass of milk with them...I use the other ones. I usually have the honey peanut, chocolate peanutbutter, chocolate brownie, or the new mocha caramel ones..and they're all 4 points on my pointsfinder... ~~ > Just wondering, I use those meal replacement bars often for breakfast but > have figured them out at 5 points.
