Guest guest
Hi. We went to see 's ENT last week and she told me that CIs are usually done when hearing loss reaches 90Db. loss is at ~75-85 depending on the frequency. I have had friends tell me that we should have her implanted now - her loss is great enough. The ENT said the longer we wait, the better she is likely to do with the implant. I was hoping to hear about the experience others have had - both with a CI or staying with hearing aids beyond 90Db. seems to be doing OK with her aids - she is completely oral and we've never really seen a need to sign, but until ~8 months ago her loss was only 45 db. Since she's only got ~ 10 Db to go before we have to seriously consider this decision I thought I would start asking questions now. I was just wondering how others have made this decision. Thanks for your help! Cheryl
