She learned to speak English after they immigrated here - got put in the back of the classroom in NYC and told that when she could speak English she could participate. She said that in a matter of days she was participating. Children become bi-lingual so easily. I know it is incredible!!! I spoke both languages from the time I learned to talk...now as a teenager I took French and for the life of me could not learn it!!! I have a good accent in French...but that's about it...could never learn much. So I guess it is a good thing I learned Spanish young or I would have never been bilingual!
