I am interested in the experience of people whose children were implanted

between the ages of 10 -13. Our 12 year old is currently being evaluated at the

Cleveland Clinic. He needs the CT scan but the surgeon said he is a good

candidate. The audiologist was pessimistic. His speech therapist at school is

very optimistic. She said he is the best candidate to benefit from all the

children in this middle school deaf ed program. We are not looking to " fix " him

or to turn him into an oral child. We are interested in realistic expectations.
