Guest guest
My son began the SCD diet 4 weeks ago. He did well the first 2 weeks, but the past 2 weeks has been a major battle. He will be 4 years old in February, he has autism, and has been GF/CF for over a year. I decided to try SCD b/c he was having chronic diarrhea. For 2 weeks after beginning SCD he was like a different child- less tantrums, better bowel movements, more words and he just seemed to really be on Earth. Then, all of a sudden his bowels began to get worse and tantrums got worse, stimming got worse. I have just about busted my brain trying to figure out why or what has caused this regression. I haven't tried any new foods since he began having loose stools again. In fact, I backed up his diet to the basic introduction diet. Eggs, chicken pancakes, gelatin, and cooked apples. That is all he is eating and has been eating for over 2 weeks. Could it possibly be all the eggs? Or is my child just doomed to have diarrhea forever? This is driving me crazy, b/c he did so well for 2 weeks- I was so surprised that he adjusted so well. Please, any and all advice as to what I am doing wrong or suggestions on what to do now, will be greatly appreciated. and Hunter, almost 4 years, Autism, SCD 4 weeks
