THe American Autoimmune Related diseases association does just what you are suggesting. http://www.aarda.org/

They are actively urging for funding for autoimmune disease.

I am certain they could use more help.

(I urge everyone to do that).

They have a celebrity spokesperson, and sponsor all kinds of symposiums to make doctors aware of the diseases. here is this years agenda. They have met with the World Health Organization last year.

I would feel a lot better about all that if it weren't for things like

this, which leave me with more than just a little trepidation:

" In 1986-87, the largest study on fluoridation and tooth decay ever was

performed. The subjects were 39,000 school children between 5 and 17

living in 84 areas around the country. A third of the places were

fluoridated, a third were partially fluoridated, and a third were not.

Results indicate no statistically significant differences in dental

decay between fluoridated and unfluoridated cities. " [

" The central concern of government is to protect industry, and that the

motivating force behind fluoride use is the need of certain businesses

to dump their toxic waste products somewhere. They try to be

inconspicuous in the disposal process and not make waves. " As is normal,

the solution to pollution is dilution. You poison everyone a little bit

rather than poison a few people a lot. This way, people don't know

Program F, the fluoride program administered by the War Department and

the US Atomic Energy Commission under classified protection 1945

forward, documents obtained via the FOIA (Freedom Of Information Act)

revealed the following:

" Bomb program researchers played a leading role in the design and

implementation of the most extensive U.S. study of the health effects of

fluoridating public drinking water - conducted in Newburgh, New York

from 1945 to 1956. Then, in a classified operation code-named " Program

F, " they secretly gathered and analysed blood and tissue samples from

Newburgh citizens, with the cooperation of State Health Department

personnel.

" The declassified documents resonate with a growing body of scientific

evidence, and a chorus of questions, about the health effects of

fluoride in the environment.

" Declassified documents of the U.S. atomic-bomb program indicate

otherwise. An April 29, 1944 Manhattan Project memo reports: " Clinical

evidence suggests that uranium hexafluoride may have a rather marked

central nervous system effect.... It seems most likely that the F [code

for fluoride] component rather than the T [code for uranium] is the

causative factor. "

" Was information suppressed? The reporters made what appears to be the

first discovery of the original classified version of a fluoride safety

study by bomb program scientists. A censored version of this study was

later published in the August 1948 Journal of the American Dental

Association. Comparison of the secret with the published version

indicates that the U.S. AEC did censor damaging information on fluoride,

to the point of tragicomedy.

" This was a study of the dental and physical health of workers in a

factory producing fluoride for the A-bomb program, conducted by a team

of dentists from the Manhattan Project.

The secret version reports that most of the men had no teeth left. The

published version reports only that the men had fewer cavities.

The secret version says the men had to wear rubber boots because the

fluoride fumes disintegrated the nails in their shoes. The published

version does not mention this.

The secret version says the fluoride may have acted similarly on the

men's teeth, contributing to their toothlessness. The published version

omits this statement.

The published version concludes that " the men were unusually healthy,

judged from both a medical and dental point of view. " " " " " "

This is a government no sane person in their right mind can trust. But

then, no sane person in their right mind would ever " trust " ANY

government to protect that individual person's best interests. The

government, any government, will always act to protect and ensure what

it envisions to be it's own best interest. This is not only a

foundational principal of the United States, but the essence of the Bill

of Rights with special emphasis on Articles 1 (speech) and 2 (arms). Is

it any wonder that the first two articles are meant to keep government

at bay?

If these people (Gov't) can't be trusted with something as simple and

basic as toothpaste, or to put forth an HONEST recommendation based on

scientific evidence of what constitutes a " balanced meal " (remember

meat, milk & bread at EVERY meal?) how on earth could they be trusted

with something so delicate, intricate and important as complex diseases?

To me the answer is simple, they can't. And thus my personal misgivings

about such seemingly altruistic programs.

As one once involved in such things, I can tell you from personal

experience that the following is one of the most primal concepts of

modern times:

" Who is watching the watchers? "
