Guest guest
Hi everyone, Antibiotic combinations are the key to this antibiotic therapy. For a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, I am currently using the following protocol which is the standard protocol for the Paris University Hospitals: Zithromax, 250 mg, 5 tablets per week, which is the regular dosage, in combination with Ciprofloxacin, 750 mg, every 12 hours, for 2 months. Ciprofloxacin is effective against Pseudomonas for only 2 months, but regains its full effectiveness after an interruption of 2 months. Ciprofloxacin is the standard antibiotic for gastro-intestinal bacteria, so that it can probably be used effectively for other gastro-intestinal bacteria. Zithromax weakens the outer membrane of the Pseudomonas bacteria, making it permeable to Ciprofloxacin which can then reach the inner core of the bacteria. Ciprofloxacin, especially at 750 mg, has unpleasant side effects because it crosses the barrier of the brain. As a result, you may experience hallucinations, the impression of having the shadow of a person passing briskly by you, for instance. Also, you will dream more, some dreams possibly being unpleasant. Finally, I experienced my first panic attack on the fifth day. It lasted only 5 minutes, but was repeated with decreasing severity on the next 2 days. Zithromax and Ciprofloxacin are both useful, but Ciprofloxacin has its drawbacks. If you are wondering, I will complete my 2 months, but hope that I will not have to repeat after the 2 month withdrawal. Finally, Zithromax generates a tinnatus effect, a constant hissing sound, especialy noticeable at night. Ciprofloxacin adds to the problem. The Microbiologist doctor advises me to withdraw from Zithromax until the tinnatus subsides or for 2 weeks, as this will considerably reduces the accumulation of Zithromax. I created the tinnatus effect by using Zithromax, 1000mg, twice a week, for 12 weeks. In hindsight, the treatment was not effective against Pseudomonas or Streptococcus, but created the tinnatus effect. It does not seem appropriate to use Zithromax, 250 mg, more than 5 or 6 tablets per week.
