My husband is going to call our doctor to find out what degree his last cast was set at exactly. He'll discuss the case with him and we'll let you know what happens. This morning (after being up once again every 1 1/2 hours) I measured the distance from heel to heel. It was 6 inches. His shoulder length is 8 inches. So I adjusted the bar so heel to heel is now 8 inches. Unfortunately, while telling one of my other children not to dump out Daddy's tool box on the floor, I cranked down too much on one of the clamps and broke it. Guess I'll have to go to a brace shop after all. UGH... Interestingly, the doctor had ordered the brace to be set at the correct length but the brace shop didn't do it. Oh, by heel to heel, do they mean from the center of the heel of one shoe to center of the heel of the other shoe? That's what I did.
